Founder & CEO
Michelle Campagnola, PhD
Hi! I'm Michelle and welcome to Restorative Tapping & Holistic Wellness! Taking care of ourselves, physically, mentally, and emotionally, is such an important journey, and it's great to reflect on the growth that comes with it. If you're in the process of exploring or deepening your self-care and the self-care of others, you're in the right place.
About the Founder:
I started my career in corporate finance at a large corporation in SE Florida in 2008, while I was finishing up my MBA. Over the next few years, I worked in senior analyst roles and eventually had the privilege to lead different teams in the Product Accounting department, working closely with IT developers and consultants throughout several software implementations.
BVA Project
In 2019, I was invited to join an Executive Business Value Add (BVA) project where we were tasked to calculate the cost of Employee Turnover in corporate, retail, warehouse, and franchise locations across The United States and Mexico and present our findings to C-suite leadership.
After completing our (conservative) analysis, the estimated cost of employee turnover...was humungous - it took our team's breath away.
We were then tasked to come up with solutions to reduce employee turnover and we came up with programs to Train, Inspire, Retain, and Engage employees.
While the aims of these programs were completely noble, they were expensive--(I knew firsthand, I had to put the $ into the financial model!)...and I had a nagging feeling in my gut anyway "telling me" that they were only addressing employee turnover on the conscious level...on the surface...but not necessarily the underlying causes.
Discovering Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT)
When I had discovered Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) in 2012, I learned that according to numerous scientific estimates, around 95% of our actions are considered to be subconscious, meaning most of our behaviors and decisions are driven by our unconscious mind rather than conscious thought.
-
What drives subconscious brain activity?
Factors like past experiences, beliefs, emotions, and ingrained patterns can significantly influence our subconscious actions (Bargh, 2019).
"Could these types of influences be driving employee turnover?," I wondered.
"And how do we even connect to the subconscious parts of our brains, anyway, to influence change?"
Acupressure tapping techniques, like EFT and others, help us to connect with parts of the brain (like the amygdala) that are responsible for subconscious activity like the "fight, flight, or freeze" response and they allows us to send it calming signals. (Wow!).
Doing so helps us to better manage stress responses, anxiety, pressure, high workplace demands, challenging situations...and also helps us to nourish our bodies better, restore our energy, and achieve a renewed sense of balance, vitality, and resilience.
We know that we perform better in any capacity when we are feeling more calm vs. anxious or overwhelmed. When we can slow down our heart rate and feel more grounded, we can make better decisions and overall, handle life stresses with more ease.
And, at the individual level, we need to learn how to manage these emotions and these beliefs because if not, they'll follow us at our next jobs, as well.
Meanwhile, on my own journey! Two twists of fate!
Twist of fate #1:
While working in Finance, I received an opportunity to teach at a local, state college. The first class that I ever taught was "Intro to Business," I was hooked. In 2013, I surprised my new hubby of 3 months and told him that I wanted to pursue my PhD with the intention of becoming a full-time professor upon graduation. His reply was, "I know you do. Go for it." :) (best.husband.ever :)
Twist of fate #2!
In 2015, half way through my program, I started getting arthritis symptoms that, at the time, were rapidly progressing. I experienced a lot of pain throughout my body. I was lucky to find out quickly via a blood test that I have Lyme Disease. I took time off from school to focus on healing and was fortunate to have found herbal remedies that literally saved the quality of my life. I no longer feel those symptoms.
In February 2018, I graduated with my PhD in Management and Technology, with a focus in Leadership and Organizational Change.
Merging Paths:
Fast forward, between 2018-2024, I began teaching graduate students online at Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU). In 2020, I was only employed part-time during COVID-19, so I underwent training to become an EFT tapping practitioner and started giving presentations about tapping in the workplace. I realized that I needed emotional support during my journey and shout out to Brittany Cano, RN, a holistic, heart-centered, life coach (and fellow "tapper":). Connecting with her energy was exactly what my spirit was calling for. Before moving out of the state, I also completed a budding herbalist program in Jupiter, FL (created by Registered Herbalist, business owner, and amazing teacher, Gina Kearney RH @ Herbs & Owls).
Restorative Tapping & Holistic Wellness
For the last several years, I have been fortunate to assume a leadership role at a software company that is part of a larger conglomerate and work remotely; my husband and I now residing in North Carolina. My journey with Restorative Tapping started by being given opportunities to lead acupressure tapping sessions at my own workplaces at SNHU and to a portfolio of 14 software companies located around the world. I also enjoyed leading a tapping session with clients at our annual user conference in Fort Lauderdale, FL. I now enjoy leading and creating custom acupressure tapping classes online and in-person with individuals and organizations at schools, hospitals, and in other workplaces.
Hindsight is 20/20. While getting Lyme Disease wasn't a walk in the park years ago, I realize now - that experience unknowingly unlocked a new a door (and passion) within me to learn more and more about plant medicine and share this knowledge in practical ways in conjunction with tapping and other therapeutic approaches.
I also collaborate on projects with very knowledgeable team members around the world who bring skills, certifications, and experience from various backgrounds in health and wellness! The more we can come together to customize solutions for folks, the better. Tailored for individuals and businesses, we foster stress relief, productivity, and a thriving workplace culture. Our mission is to empower lives through transformative wellness solutions and resources that we create, offering a comprehensive range of services designed to rejuvenate and revitalize mind, body, and spirit.
Restoring our energy is not just for the weekends or whenever we can switch ours brain off from work...
We can show you and your teams how to restore your energy throughout the day (especially throughout the workday)...and what a difference that makes...meanwhile, achieving optimal well-being, feeling more calm and at ease, even in challenging situations. Doing so improves our own performance, well-being, and overall enjoyment and quality of life.... and for the people and the world around us.
Come Join our Tapping Community and experience the profound benefits of holistic healing!
Best regards,
Michelle
